Tacámbaro, Michoacán, Mexico

Tacámbaro is a small magical town in Michoacán, Mexico not far from Patzcuaro. The most famous site is the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Fatima, which shows different images including the queens of Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and Cuba. It has the designation as a heroic city as Governor Nicolás Régules saved the life of President Lerdo and sent him to exile in the United States after he failed to steal another term as president. The Governor also defeated the French in this city. During the revolution, this served as a state capital.
