San Martin de las Piramides is a small town next to the magical town of San Juan Teotihuacan and the UNESCO world heritage site of Teotihuacan pyramids. Today, it’s the base for hot air balloons flying over the pyramids, but it was involved in the independence war on the royalist side, invaded by the French, and was a hotly contested site during the revolution.
