Cape Greco, Cyprus

Cape Greco is the easternmost point of the Republic of Cyprus as well as the European Union, a half-day trip from Larnaca. While its natural beauty is its main draw, it’s also special for the fact that tourists have to go through British territory, and a military base at that, to get there from either of the two Republic of Cyprus airports. The areas are called Akrotiri and Dhekelia, a leftover from the British era, as a part of the deal for independence.
